Laundry Aide

 

 

Laundry Aide - First Shift (6am-noon)

- Full-time (30-35 hrs/week)

- Wash, Dry, Iron, Deliver laundry

Pay: From $12.00 per hour

 

Scope of Position:  The overall purpose of the Laundry Aide position is to provide assistance in the delivery of laundry services. This position will involve retrieving soiled linen/clothing, wash, dry, fold, and delivery to residents linens and clothing.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Must have ability to work harmoniously with other personnel.
  2. Must be able to show respect and courtesy to the residents of the home.
  3. Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  4. Must be able to perform duties in such a manner as not to jeopardize the efficiency of the Laundry Department on a daily basis.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Collect soiled linen from all areas of the home and transport to laundry room for cleaning.
  2. Sort liens, rinse and treat as necessary- follow procedures as directed by Lead Worker.
  3. Assist “Washer” with loading of soiled linens in to washers and transferring to clean wet linen to dryers.
  4. Remove dry linens from dryers to folding table and assist with folding.
  5. Sort all linens and place in appropriate cart in preparation for delivery to resident rooms and storage areas.
  6. Press any items needing pressing and place on hangers in appropriate areas.
  7. Assist in delivery of clean linens to resident rooms and clean linen closets.
  8. If you are a designated “Washer”, you will be responsible for maintaining the proper levels of cleaning chemicals and changing out empty containers with full ones.
  9. Keep work area clean, free from spills. And excess supplies, etc. to assure that safety regulations are maintained at all times.
  10. If a worker as a substitute for any given day the substitute will be responsible for all absent workers duties.
  11. Follow all schedules for job assignments as posted by Lead Worker/Supervisor.
  12. Follow cleaning and sanitizing procedures for isolation linens as instructed
  13. Follow safety procedures as instructed by the department supervisor.
  14. Perform any other duties as delegated by Lead Worker/Supervisor

  1. Frequently required to stand and walk, sit use hands and/or fingers, reach with arms and hands, climb stair, talk, hear, and smell.
  2. Lift or move from floor to waist 50 pounds, floor to chest 25 pounds, and floor to overhead 15 pounds for a reasonable amount of time.
  3. Lift, push and pull heavy wet linens, and move equipment and supplies through out the workday up to 50 lbs.
  4. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to blood or other body fluids, fumes, or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
